Junior Engineer Sprinkler Technology

Purpose

The Junior Engineer Sprinkler Technology course (formerly Aankomend sprinklertechnicus) forms the basis of knowledge in the field of sprinkler protection. In this course, the measures required for fire safety according to the Dutch standard are conveyed to the participant.

The course covers fire safety in the general sense, the design of a complete sprinkler system with the necessary hydraulic calculations and NEN-12845. This course will prepare you for the Junior Engineer Sprinkler Technology exam.

The course is intended for anyone wishing to expand their knowledge of fire safety. The course is suitable for employees of sprinkler installation companies, inspection institutions and consultancies in construction, industry or fire safety

Course description

The course consists of 10 teaching days (divided into 3 modules) delivered weekly at EFPC’s classroom. These 10 days are divided as follows: module theory, module hydraulic calculation and the design module.

A teaching day consists of two half-days and in each half-day session a subject is covered in the field of knowledge, design and/or arithmetic. During the lessons, there are plenty of opportunities to ask questions and practice the material.

In addition to attending the course days, participants are expected to study at home, taking into account approximately 12 hours per week.

Participants are expected to have at least MTS level (or equivalent) at the start of the course.

Course duration and costs

The course lasts 10 teaching days from 8:30am to 4:30pm and costs €2,560, which includes digital teaching materials and catering such as coffee, tea and lunch (between the two half-day sessions) but excludes VAT and examination fees.

You can register for the course starting with the theory module on March 4th 2025.
The other course dates will be announced soon.

The exam will be provided for the sprinkler courses by CIBV and Certoplan. For this, you need to register yourself.

You are advised to bring a tablet or laptop. Presentations will be provided digitally before the start of the course. The assignments will be handed out during the lessons. Do not forget to bring a scale ruler and a calculator for the exercises.
