Engineer Sprinkler Technology

Purpose

The course Engineer Sprinkler Technology (formerly Sprinkler Technician) is the continuation of the course Prospective Sprinkler Technician/Junior Engineer Sprinkler Technology. During the course Engineer Sprinklertechniek, the NEN-EN12845/NEN 1073 and the making of hydraulic calculations are further discussed.

The design process is expanded upon, with the expectation that you will not only be able to produce a good and appropriate sprinkler design at the end of the programme, but that it will also be economically efficient.

The course is intended for those who have successfully completed the aspiring sprinkler technician or Junior Engineer Sprinkler Technology course and want to become a certified specialist in the field of sprinkler technology.

Course description

The course consists of 9 teaching days delivered weekly at EFPC’s classroom. These 9 days are divided as follows: theory module, hydraulic calculation module and the design module.

A teaching day will consist of two half-days where in each half-day session a subject will be covered in the field of knowledge, design and/or calculation. During the lessons, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and practice the material.

In addition to attending the course days, you are expected to undertake home studies of approximately 12 hours per week.

To take part in the course, you must have completed the training programme Prospective Sprinkler Technician or Junior Engineer Sprinkler Technology. The course requires experience and an interest in mathematics. The maths exam at VMBO TL level (see examenblad.nl) poses no problem for you!

Course duration and costs

The course duration is 9 teaching days from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the course fee is €2,765, which includes digital teaching materials and catering such as coffee, tea and lunch (between the two half-day sessions) but excludes VAT and examination fees.

The Engineer Sprinkler Technology course starts in 2024 on 19 September, you can register here.
The other class dates are:
– 19 and 26 September
– 3, 10, 17 and 24 October
– 7, 21 and 28 November

The exam will be provided for the sprinkler courses by CIBV and Certoplan. For this, you need to register yourself.

You are advised to bring a tablet or laptop. Presentations will be provided digitally before the start of the course. The assignments will be handed out during the lessons. Do not forget to bring a scale ruler and a calculator for the exercises.
